Charity Skydive

July 17th 2024

On Friday 12th July, five of our brave Go Greener’s (self-titled “Go Green’s Jump Squad”) travelled over to Hibaldstow Airfield and threw themselves out of a plane, at 15,000ft, in the name of cancer awareness.

Many of them have been affected by cancer throughout their lives, whether that be friends, family or themselves. One type of cancer, in particular, has had a serious impact on many members of the team, and due to this the skydive is raising money for Prostate Cancer UK.

To guarantee maximum impact, the group have funded everything themselves, this ensures that every penny raised of their £1,000 fundraising goal goes directly to supporting Prostate cancer UK, and the amazing work they do.

Their Reasons for Jumping:

“It’s my 30th birthday coming up and I wanted to do something directly involved with a charitable donation to celebrate. Mum & Nan are both now cancer free, so supporting a charity of a similar nature is an amazing opportunity.”
Karl, Business Development Manager

“I’m taking the jump for a charity very close to my heart after losing my dad to prostate cancer. To raise as much money as possible for people affected by this horrible disease.”
Lee, Business Development Manager

“I’ve always wanted to do a skydive and having a cause as important as this made it all the more worthwhile. Almost everyone has been affected by cancer in some way, and any money or awareness raised can make such a huge difference.”
Sabrina, Head of Sustainability

“Have done a skydive before, and was that buzzing I wanted to do it again. Mum & Nan both effected by cancer, so I am loving the opportunity to give back to charity.”
Alex, Key Account Manager

“I’m doing the jump as my brother suffered with cancer and the cause certainly relates on a personal level. Also terrified of heights so, conquer the fear!”
Jack,  Business Development Manager

With all feet safely back on firm ground, we are so pleased that, as it stands, they have exceeded their target goal, and have currently raised over £1,345 for Prostate Cancer UK.
